Rugged Paws Dog Boots

I bought these specifically for summer because the pavement in our neighborhood gets hot enough to fry an egg by 2 PM. My golden retriever used to pull toward the grass to save his paws, but with these boots, he walks completely naturally. The thick rubber soles block the heat perfectly, and they don't twist sideways while he walks.

We do a lot of weekend hiking over sharp volcanic rock and gravel trails that usually leave my dog's pads raw. These boots are incredibly tough—the sole material feels like a miniature car tire. They took a beating on a 6-mile trek yesterday and barely show any wear. Plus, the double Velcro straps kept them locked on even when he scrambled up steep inclines.

My senior lab has weak hips and kept slipping and sliding on our hardwood floors, which made him terrified to walk through the kitchen. I tried socks with grips, but they just spun around. These rugged booties have awesome traction. The rubber grips the floor perfectly, giving him his confidence back, and the foam padding at the top means the straps don't irritate his dewclaws.

If you have an active dog, you know how impossible it is to find boots that don't fly off the second they sprint. The expanding side seams make these really easy to slip over his wide paws, and once you cinch down the two Velcro tabs, they do not budge. He tore through thick mud and heavy brush today and came back with all four boots still securely on.

Awesome protection against road salt and freezing slush. Last winter, my dog was constantly lifting his paws and crying from the chemical ice-melts on the sidewalks. Put these on him this morning for a walk through the fresh snow—paws stayed completely bone-dry and clean. Cinching them at the narrowest part of his ankle keeps them perfectly in place.
